Steve Jobs made the big announcement for it today. Basically the development of new apps is going to start now, it's not like we all of a sudden have a bunch of apple approved apps. Anyways, it is good news. Developers will have to pay a fee of $99 to join the iPhone developer club to have their app distributed in the 'App Store'. iTunes will most likely be handling the distribution of the apps and housing the 'App Store'. Seems to be a popular item because Apple's website for the SDK keeps crashing.
Personally, I was hoping for new apps today, as I'm sure a lot of people were. Anyways I think the excitement over the iPhone will only continue to grow when new apps begin to be released. One other important point - we are still unsure of if these apps will works on unlocked iPhones and what will happen to Installer.app
